I have a 55 renault scenic and have a message saying clear particle filter?

I can't find anything about it in the handbook and not sure what it means?

    It’s basically a filter in the exhaust which traps all the soot from the burnt diesel, when it gets approx 3/4 clogged the car needs to be run at a speed above 50mph for a few miles, this enables the engine temp to rise sufficiently to burn the soot off and regenerate the filter.
