Have a Renault scenic/megan. Car turns over, you can put into gear but when you try to move it just crunches.

when you try to move the car theres just a crunching sound and it dont move but you can put it into gear no problem.
The Gears work fine and The clutch feels fine. If its the drive shaft is that a costly job?

One of your drive shafts is buggered and will need replacing. They have splines on both ends (connecting to the gearbox and wheel hubs) these splines have worn down to nothing. This is the only thing it can be of the car is selecting gears correctly and the clutch pedal feels fine. Hope this helps??

EDIT: Definitely sound like the drive shaft then, shouldn’t cost anymore than £200-£300 including the part, take it to a local garage for a better estimate. You might manage to get it done cheaper, just remember that the main dealer will more than likely be the most expensive place to get it done. Cheers..

Could be broken driveshaft or cv joint.
Can try looking under car with engine running and in gear to see what is moving or not.
But it’s very dangerous if you are not carefull.

You need to check several things before you can determine the problem. First with out starting the engine, examine both drive shafts, turn the steering full lock and with the car in gear grab the drive shaft and try to turn it. If it turns or the shaft is off at the CV joints then that’s your problem.
If the drive shafts are OK then my suspicion would be that the clutch is not working correctly.
Best then to have the car checked out by a garage.
    Ja.
