does anyone know where the temperature sender unit is on a renault scenic?

ie position on the engine as there are so many dont know which is what !! or of a web site that could help
hi, its a 98 s reg 2litre, the temp guauge keeps rising to top as soon as the engine started am assuming that it is the sender unit needs changing, thanks for your helpxx

    My wife used a thermometer once to test if the car was running hot as there was no oil on the dipstick.

    Hi.

    As far as I can make out, the engine coolant sensor should be on the right hand side of the engine as you face it, (ie passenger side of the car), just below the air filter box.

    The diagram for the 2l engine isn’t very clear unfortunately, but it looks similar to the 1.6l.

    On the 1.6l, the engine coolant temperature sensor has 3 wires coming from it – 2 pink and 1 green. The only other sensor I can see near it is the crankshaft position sensor, which has only 2 wires – 1 green and 1 brown. I would expect the 2l to be the same.

    hey where r u from it doesn’t have to be the TS unit all you have to do is take out ur thermostate and ur problem will be fixed

    chenk the fan is working, if the gauge go up to hot with just the ignition turned on the wire to the sender unit is earthed out
