Could a mechanic or engineer advise me about my immobiliser on my Renault Scenic please?

My keys are playing up, although I am not convinced it is just the keys. I beleive the imobiliser is becoming disfunctional too.
If I were to get another circuit receiver from a scrapped car and replace mine with it, can I reprogram my keys to it, or will I need the keys aswell?

Yes, you can – but the receiver doesn’t need programming – the codes are stored by the engine ecu.

Get a proper transponder for your vehicle key, then you can actually get the vehicle to start as it is.

May be a problem with immobiliser box it is a fault with these cars. Was going to get one myself but it had a problem with its immobiliser. Told by garage it is fitted the wrong way round and dirt gets in causing it to malfunction.
