Can the engine immobiliser be removed from a Renault Scenic?

I have a P reg Scenic which works perfectly except for the central locking system. When it doesn't work the engine is immobilised! Mechanic has done everything he can but it still happens sporadically.
Help.

There must be a way to do this but it will require rewiring of the systems that do the immobilising. It will not be easy as they are designed to be not easy to defeat.
The mechanic has clearly not replaced the defective part of the system so has not done all he can

The most common issues with scenic immobiliser were the keys and the receiver unit in the roof of the car.
The keys suffer from faulty solder joints on the optical eyes, thus preventing the key from giving out a good signal. this is easily rectified by simply re soldering the joints.
The receiver unit is fitted in the roof next to the interior light, unfortunately the radio aerial is mounted above it ! The aerial bases have a habit of allowing water to leak into the car and on to the receiver unit. check the Receiver and see if there are any patches of blue corrosion on it. if there are try cleaning it carefully and then get the aerial base resealed, by removing the aerial and applying some silicone sealer to the aerial base.
The Receiver unit from a scenic of a similar age will fit your car and it is not coded in any way, so you could always try one from another car to see if that improves the keys operation.

Failing that, the immobiliser system cuts out the fuel pump, so the engine will not run for longer than a few seconds. Maybe your mechanic can bypass the immobiliser by rewiring the fuel pump circuit using an in dependant circuit fitted to the car.
